Acting, Micro-credential
The Acting Micro-credential consists of 6 required credit hours. Satisfactory completion of the required courses would allow the student to achieve beginning-to-intermediate knowledge and skill in the fundamental aspects of Acting: character development, voice, movement, and script analysis.
Admission Requirements
For current, active Saint Louis University students wishing to declare a micro-credential, complete the Submit Update for Student Curriculum Record form.
For non-Saint Louis University students, click here to apply as a Visiting/Non-Degree Seeking Student.
The student will demonstrate:
- Basic level knowledge of acting theory and terminology;
- Beginning-to-intermediate skills in textual analysis;
- Beginning-to-intermediate skills in characterization (vocal, physical, emotional, etc.); and
- Understanding of basic rehearsal techniques and protocols.

Grade of “C” or better in each required course (per the Micro-credential Policy).
Students who do not achieve the “C” or better grade in a required course will be expected to repeat the course in an attempt to achieve the “C” or better grade. Students may repeat a required course one time. Failure to achieve the “C” or better grade after one repeat attempt will be dismissed from the Micro-credential.
