Fundamentals of Additive Manufacturing, Design, and Analysis, Microcredential (Beginning Fall 2026)
The Fundamentals of Additive Manufacturing, Design, and Analysis microcredential is designed to provide undergraduate students at Saint Louis University with essential knowledge and practical skills in additive manufacturing (AM). This program aligns with SLU’s mission to foster innovation and academic excellence, while preparing students to meet growing industry demands in advanced manufacturing technologies. Additive manufacturing is transforming industries such as aerospace, healthcare, automotive, and consumer goods, creating a critical need for a workforce skilled in AM technologies. This microcredential leverages SLU’s Center for Additive Manufacturing (SLU CAM) and its state-of-the-art facilities, addressing workforce development in a rapidly evolving field.
Admission Requirements
For current, active Saint Louis University students wishing to declare a microcredential, complete the Update for Student Curriculum Record form.

Students must achieve a minimum grade of C in each course within the program.

Academic Standing
Program Academic Standing
- Students falling below the grade requirement in any course will be placed on probation and must retake the course within the next academic year to continue in the program.
- Students who fail to meet program requirements for a single semester may be placed on probation and provided a written improvement plan.
- Failure to meet improvement targets during the probation period will result in removal from the program and ineligibility for the microcredential.
