MD 0100 - Professional and Personal Development I

By participating in classes and activities, students will have the opportunity to learn about and develop in various areas of lifestyle management that contribute to becoming a successful physician, including; self-knowledge, study skills, self-directed learning, professionalism, and wellness. The PPF is a two-year course that combines a number of mandatory events, lectures and experiences into a course that is focused on the personal and professional development of medical students. Three specific areas of development will be explored within the course content; 1) Professionalism, 2) Personal Growth and 3) Wellness. Students will participate in educational experiences in each of these areas.

MD 0300 - Clinical Correlations

This course is used to remediate NBME subject exam failures. Students cannot register for this course themselves.
MD 0301 - Introduction to Core Clerkship
Credit(s): 1-12 Credits (Repeatable for credit)
This course provides training in skills and procedures required for all students to begin the core clerkships.
MD 0303 - Professional and Personal Development III
Credit(s): 1-3 Credits
A longitudinal course spanning the clerkship year in which students gather once every 8 weeks for a one hour presentation on a variety of topics including wellness and stress management as well as important clinical and ethical issues in medicine. These presentations are followed by small group experiences in which students discuss the topic presented in the previous hour as well as challenging experiences in the clerkships.
MD 0406 - Clinical Paradigms 1
Credit(s): 1-6 Credits (Repeatable for credit)
This course is a study period for USMLE Step 2CK and USMLE Step 2CS. The maximum length of study time is 4 weeks. Students are graded Pass/Fail and receive 1 credit hour per week of study for a maximum of 4 weeks.
MD 0407 - Clinical Paradigms 2
Credit(s): 1-6 Credits (Repeatable for credit)
This course is a supervised study for remediation of USMLE Step 1 or Step 2. The length of this course may be 2 or 4 weeks. Students are graded Pass/Fail and receive 1 credit hour per week of study. Students cannot register for this course themselves: the Office of Academic Records will register students in this course at the request of Dr. Duffy.
MD 0413 - Aerospace Medicine Primary 101

AMP 101 is the first in a three course series comprising the initial qualification training for USAF flight surgeons. It is a combination of didactic and laboratory experiences designed to prepare medical officers for basic mission qualification to perform duties in support of the USAF Aerospace Medicine Program. The course provides the student with knowledge and skills required for the treatment and proper aeromedical disposition of aircrew and speical operations duty members. Specifically, AMP 101 is designed to introduce students to the unique aeromedical issues pertinent to the flight environment including: aeromedical standards, aerospace physiology, hyperbaric medicine, human performance sustainment, basic and military aviation fundamentals, emergency and operational aerospace medicine, and USAF weapon systems and associated missions.
MD 0414 - COVID-19 Screening

During the COVID-19 outbreak students will assist outpatient office screening of patients to ensure virus containment to appropriate office visits.

Clinical Practice Guidelines: Guide your clinical learning with the key information form leading organizations provided in these modules. Topics in this course also include: Pediatric Developmental Milestones, Geriatrics Glossary, Diagnostic Excellence, Aquifer Diagnostic Excellence, Culture in Healthcare, Addiction, Radiology.

MD 0418 - CDC Train - Public Health 101, Infection Prevention, & COVID-19

Employing the CDC's online training service CDC Train, students will complete introductory and mid-level talks by national experts on the basics of Public Health Strategies in Infection prevention and containment. Courses have self-assessment questions dispersed throughout the lectures to reinforce educational value, and clearly this topic and the principles therein are considered a "Hot Topic."
MD 0421 - COVID-19 Informatics

This course includes students who worked with Drs. to screen patients on a COVID-19 hotline for SSM. Students were also responsible for data entry of COVID-19 cases.
