Scholarship/Financial Aid Renewability

Students must reapply for many financial aid programs annually, especially those based upon financial need. Need-based assistance programs from all sources (University, federal, state or private) are not automatically renewed yearly.

To reapply for these programs, a student should annually submit the FAFSA as close to Oct. 1 as possible. The need-based SLU Grant requires an annual FAFSA priority filing date of Feb. 1.

Most University merit-based scholarships renew each year without re-application or FAFSA filing, assuming the student maintains the minimum renewal criteria required for their scholarship program.
