Theological Studies, Minor

Examine theology and religion in all of its diversity and wrestle with today’s living issues in connection with our complex histories through Saint Louis University’s minor in theological studies.

The minor provides a foundation for the study of religion across the globe, with a particular focus on Catholic and other Christian traditions. Courses offered by the SLU’s Department of Theological Studies traverse a range of research methods, religious traditions, historical periods and places around the world.

After completion of the core course, THEO 1000: Theological Foundations (or THEO 1600: God-Talk), an additional 15 credit hours of theological study are required to fulfill the minor requirements. These requirements allow flexibility for students to pursue nine credit hours of their choice, providing broadly applicable training in religion and faith, along with skills in research, critical thinking and communication that are helpful for any career.

At least nine credits must be taken at the 3xxx-level or above.  A single course cannot be used to fill more than one requirement when pursuing this minor.
