RO 0302 - Radiation Oncology Career Exploration

RO 0402 - Clinical Radiation Oncology
1-12 Credits
Students will be introduced to the day-to-day practice of clinical Radiation Oncology. Students will participate in the evaluation of cancer patients including multidisciplinary conferences and clinics. Students will learn the methods and limitation of therapeutic radiation with a generous exposure to the natural history of disease, basic clinical physics, and technology of radiation delivery, including state-of-the-art modalities such as Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and the CyberKnife. A classic clinic rotation and observational experience. Opportunities may exist for clinical retrospective research.
RO 0901 - Radiation Oncology Direct Patient Care
1-12 Credits (Repeatable for credit)
This course may be used to register for a Radiation Oncology elective. The elective experience must fulfill the requirements for a direct-patient care elective. The location of the experience may be at a SLU SOM affiliate or at another health care institution.
