Mental Health and Society, Microcredential (Beginning Fall 2026)

Mental Health and Society is a three course (9 credit hours) microcredential that examines mental health using social, cultural, and global perspectives. Drawing on sociology and anthropology, students study the social forces that shape mental health and illness using qualitative and quantitative research approaches. This microcredential provides interdisciplinary training at the intersection of social science and biomedical knowledge, complementing majors and pre-health pathways in psychology, neuroscience, public health, and related disciplines.

Admission Requirements

For current, active Saint Louis University students wishing to declare a microcredential, complete the Update for Student Curriculum Record form.
